Very proud of you Laurel for trying to raise culturally aware and open minded kids. That's a very good idea about watching those movies. In high school I had a required Race and Prejudice class. It was awesome and changed my life forever. I wish more kids could be exposed to that.
I'm not going to Dubai to prove a point, I'm going to relax and spend alot of money!-and experience the culture. But, I'm still proud of myself and my hubby for going and not letting current world trends (Prejudice) get in the way.

Debi,

Reading your post made me laugh and feel better all in one.. I laughed because I can relate to you. Sometimes I feel like I am the only CFer in the world who needs to LOSE weight, second I can relate to what your feeling and going through having a husband in Nursing school, that is as good as not really having a husband while he is there, I can say that because I am in nursing school graduating in 9 Weeks, and my family hardly sees me and I live with them.. I am so busy studying.

Third I felt good because you are in your 50s and still working... Give me a lot of hope.......

Sorry that you are having a bad day, you have a lot on your plate, just think when your husband graduates you can get lots of new clothes....

IF you lived by me, I would make you pancakes, just the right size.......................

*sorry I know this is a whining post...

to keep with the whining.... I am trying to follow this movie "beautiful mind" and I am so clueless as to what is going on no matter how hard I try.

Hey Jane,

Did you decide where you are going to go yet?

I'm going to Dubai the 1st 2 weeks of this May. I'm so excited! We will be mostly in our hotel and in the local souks (shops). I hear there is awesome shopping there. We'll be doing a 3 day desert tour also, visiting ruins and traditional desert villages.

Debi and Jennifer,

I didn't read the post you're speaking of about being frustrated about your weight. But you are not alone! I too am annoyed about my weight, mostly around my mid section. I'm grateful that I don't have the opposite and can't gain weight....but it's been an annoyance my whole life. My #1 complaint is being in 2 piece bathing suits. I have skinny stick limbs, and then a huge pear tummy.

No Christian, we haven't decided yet. We're thinking probably North or S. Carolina area or Savannah. We're not sure when though, my younger son will probably need to go in for IVs in April during our vacation week from school. My older son just got out. I wish they could be on the same schedule- its so much easier to have them in together.

Ok I guess I'm back to whining.

Hi there Amy, It's quite funny for me actually because I know my dog (she's a Newfoundland) loves to get in the trash whenever she can. When she was a puppy and I took her to puppy training, I remember the trainer advising other moms who's dogs got in the trash to booby-trap the trash can. The dogs need to have a bad personal experience with the trash can so that's it not a relationship between me, the trash can and the dog. She needs to be scared of it own her own so she won't do it again. So we're using a frying pan and put it on top of the trash can lid so that when she knocks it over and it makes a loud bang....hopefully she won't go back. Well, that's seemed to work for the kitchen one, but I don't have a frying pan on top of my office trash can and so she's learned to go there instead. Sneaky little thing. Anyways, so she's the one I know who knocked it over last night and then the other dog (a yellow labrador) took part of the fun obviously because he's the one puking it all up. It's funny because he is not the one to usually do such devilish things, and yet once the trash was knocked over I think he thought "well they'll never know it was me now since the newfy already knocked it over." Silly stuff, the characters I tell ya. Yes, and he made those horrible puking sounds like 4 different times in the middle of the night. We woke up to all these piles of kleenex in our bedroom. Gross. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-confused.gif" border="0">
