I've done a bit of research but haven't found anything specific as far as what I'm looking for.
I'm 24 years old, and I'd say when I was about 22, I started waking up and having to clear my throat some mornings. It progressively has gotten worse to where I have to hock up mucous a few times in the morning (I noticed it usually loosens up in the shower), and maybe once or twice during the day
I've been to the doctor and tried one antibiotic only over these few years (I usually like to let my body heal itself but I'm not opposed to medicine). Recently I went and my doctor thinks my nasal sinus's are just dripping constantly and didn't establish that she thought I was coughing anything up from my lungs, she said I may just have a bad allergy I've developed and I should try a neti-pot which I have, it helps a bit but doesn't seem to get rid of the problem.
I'm personally concerned that since I'm horizontal when I sleep, this is letting mucous possibly drain up from my lungs and getting into my throat which then I need to clear, and its not all from my nasal cavity (which is usually 50-75% stopped up except after neti-pot uses).
Unless I have some ravaging bad sinus infection that my body hasn't been able to rid, from what I've read I think it's possible I may have CF?
I was a former college athlete (soccer player) and used to run a whole lot and I never had any problems back then, I don't ever feel short on breath and feel relatively perfectly healthy otherwise today besides the mucous. Running today does make me have to hock up more so again the fear is I'm loosening stuff up from my lungs, its getting into the throat, and I'm having to clear.
Basically I am wondering if this sounds like I've developed CF, if these are symptoms, and if I should definitely get tested?
Thank you in advance for any advice.
