He's just learning to master the mouthpiece and thinks the noseclip is pretty cool.

He's been on Tobi since he was 3 months old, so I was trying to think back in terms of what worked for us when he was a baby.

Hey, I understand......My son prefers the mask and he is 11. I only was passing this on, because I just found this out. He has never been on Tobi, but uses the mask sometimes for pulmozyme so it gets up into his sinuses which are a big problem...but when i told the clinic we did it this way, they were opposed to this way and said especially with tobi the mask is not good.

We do the olders ones PEP in the car travelling to school everyday it's great, normally on the weekends we travel to sports so it gets done then too.

We also to the pill box thing, but recently found a month one, so when we get back from the monthly chemist trip we just sit down and disbute all the pills into the correct days and then every morning open that dates and its done - also helps to him to remember the date.

We also do physio (percussion) during story time.

At breakfast i set all his meds complete with a tissue for each of his nasal sprays. We have alittle procession line to get through before breakfast.

There are cf-specific time savings and just general ones around the house; both are important factors in fitting everything into the day/week. A couple things I did not see mentioned:

1.Have lots of neb cups so you don't have to do a wash/sterilize cycle every day. I think we've got about 20 in circulation right now all marked with a replace date.

2. Use inhalers for albuterol and/or flovent instead of nebulizing those if you find yourself with a really tight day. Our CF doc says nebs are better, but something is better than nothing.

3. Create and maintain a routine; have a place for things and keep them there.

4. Encourage/train your CF tot to "own" the treatments as soon as s/he is developmentally ready - i.e. you can do other things if you don't have to sit by and coach/help the child do nebs or whatever.

5. Don't worry about those last couple drops in the nebs waiting for it to "sputter" or run dry.
