kdmr1220,
I think most of us have been where you are now. I know when I went on SSDI and decided to work part time-- that was huge for me. (I posted about it too). It was a life changing decision since before that I worked full time and had a hectic schedule (and I was sick...a lot!)
I think maybe an antidepresent might be good for you, if you don't like it, go back off of it. But it might help take the edge off for a while.
I think some of your concern is just being a man. Wanting to provide, be a role model, etc and that is all great. But I'm sure the wife & kids just appreciate you being there...you don't have to be a super hero.
Do you think your body is telling you to slow down or do you just think you are in a funk right now? Funks can be fixed but if you need to slow down...then listen to your body.
I work flexible hours (so I get plenty of sleep) and I love it. If I feel like crap, I don't go to work. The lack of stress is so good for me. I decided to take better care of myself so I can continue to be here and love my husband and 5 stepkids as long as possible. I know he appreciates that too.
So there are my thoughts. Hang in there, you'll get it figured out. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> It takes time.
Good luck to you~
Kelli
