To those taking allergy shots...a new day!!!!

So, I have terrible allergies and have taken shots on and off for several years.

Unfortunately, because I travel so much, I always end up missing my weekly shots which always leads to me falling off the wagon (of taking shots, that is).

So, today, I called my allergists office to schedule testing again (now I am allergic to my POOCHES <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> ) Anyway, I said I knew I would end up missing again because I am going to be in Florida for 2 months this summer.

She said no worries because the have switched to the DROPS UNDER THE TONGUE. I give myself a daily dose under the tongue and slowly build up the immunities.

HOLY COW...DID YOU GUYS KNOW ABOUT THIS?????

NO more allergy shots, just daily tongue drops!!!! She said new studies show they are more effective because the patient is keeping serum level more constant than a once a week shot!!!! WHAT????? I AM SO HAPPY I CAN SCREAM!!!!

Apparently, many of the top research centers are switching to this method....I go to UT SOUTHWESTERN in DALLAS.....to the immunology research dept. Also, recent studies show that they are more effective and are much faster in terms of results.

Does anyone else have this???? Amy, do you do this????

And they are not pills they are drops under the tongue....think mucolyxir <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Anyway, my doc is famous ENT as well...Bradley Marple. People fly from all over the world to see him.. They say if he can't fix it, no one can. Don't mean to act like pissing contest over doctors, just to make the point that he is an expert in his field...can't imagine that he would risk his reputation over something like this. Of course, he is always ahead in some areas....maybe this is one? or maybe not.

Apparently, they have been doing the drops in Europe for years because they are more effective than the shots.

Crap, I hope he knows what he is doing.....
