To those taking allergy shots...a new day!!!!

my CFer doesn't have allergies, but her little sister does.
quite severe in fact and they trigger her asthma.

we've been doing the sublingual immunotherapy for about 8 months now and I really believe I can tell the difference. she isn't on nearly as much medication as she was this time last year.

6 drops under her tongue every day instead of weekly shots.

BUT not covered by insurance. cost out of pocket is 100 dollars a month. all doctor visits included.

quite frankly with all I need to do for my CFer. it was an easy decision to make

Thank you for posting this info on your daughter...and the info about the cost.

I would be paying 10 copay for each shot which adds up to $520 a year... Clearly, it will cost more, but I feel like the compliance for me will be worth it...as I was never compliant with the shots.

I am hopeful that it will work and am encouraged from some of the studies I have read. I will know more when I talk to my doc on Wed.

Who knows?? If it is almost as effective, I think I will benefit <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
