I too have hemroid and fizzure problems and instead of lessoning the digestive supplement I add a softener. Once in a while a colace. Not peri colace just colace. Straining because of hard stool can cause the slight bleeding. Sometimes more. I have lived with this for years. It isn't a big deal if that is what it is for you. Smart to get it checked with your family history. I love that you are so pro active.

Also keeping the area really clean helps. I know, I know nothing is sacred. but who else are we going to discuss this stuff with. Hey at least it is anonomyous. I think it is a great resource. God love you's

Well I talked to my mom tonight about the whole blood thing. I brought it up by asking how my dad knew to get checked for Colon Cancer and she said he had blood streaks in his stools. She said it wasn't a whole lot but it was streaked throughout (OMG same as me). SOOOOOOO I told her what I had and she told me to tell my DR so I can get an ultrasound and get it checked out. She also said he lost alot of weight in a short period of time which is not the case for me. But I am still a little nervous and I am going to look into it as soon as I return home

Just wanted to update anyone still interested LOL!

Amy,

It is something to be checked out, but like a few other people in this post have said it could very well just be hemroids. Even if they are not visible or if you can't feel them they can be internal. I had that same problem. Blood streaks in my stools, blood on the paper when whiping blah blah... Had a colonoscopy done and sure enough it was internal hemroids, which from what I understand there isn't much they can do about that. On another hemroidal note lol..... Do any of you know if hemroids are common in CFers? 2 weeks ago I had one the size of one of those big marble that you use to break up the little marbles (yeah I know... ewww) They operated to remove it and let me tell you that was hell! 2 straight weeks afterwards of wanting to scream every time I took a dump. And a lil advice for y'all... If you do have to have a surgery like that done or any where they do a spinal instead of putting you under, be aware that when you are numb from the waist down.... you don't know that you have to pee! Cough carefully! LOL

Amy, Thanks for the update. My Mom had Colon cancer too! She didn't have any inkling about hers except that they spotted something amiss during an annual colonoscopy. Jesse - thanks for sharing your experience. EWWWW yes, but it's good to know about things like this! Even if we try not to think about them - or talk with people face to face about these issues! ~Juliet
