i bought a cheap adapter for my neb at a local travel store. POS burned out during my first treatment. that left me scrambling through italy trying to find a US-Euro adapter. i think i payed about $80 and it weighs at least 25 pounds. at least. i don't cary the vest around when i travel. i have my wife pat me when i need it but otherwise go without. i know i shouldn't miss treatments but sometimes it's not realistic to be 100% compliant.

Hi!

I went to Italy in November 07 and brought my Vest, my pari nebulizer and a travel, battery operated nebulizer. Both the Vest and pari blew up on me. Thank goodness I had the battery operated neb! My mother and aunt took turns doing manual CPT on me, but again, it was not the same as the Vest.

I was annoyed bc I made arrangements with the Vest co. for a new euro plug, they re-assured me all 3 different times I called it would be OK. When I called from Florence,(after the Vest blew up) the tech on the phone told me I was SOL. When I came home I spoke to the manager and told him how the tech handled the situation and they sent me a new vest the next day.

All this to say, the new one they sent me is euro compatible, it called Smart Vest and weighs about 30 lbs or so.

I would call the co that makes your vest and tell them you are travelling, maybe they can lend you one for the trip.

Good Luck and have a great time!

ooh getting a temporary travel vest is tempting...but for 7 days i don't know if its really worth it. thanks for that info kristy i will look into it.

noexcuses-i do have the 104 model hillrom. it has the great travel case and all, with wheels and everything. perfect for travel but...man will it really be ok in france?
is that what u have used over there? so u r saying that u don't need an adapter when u use it? how is that possible?
do u mind telling me where u got the euro style pari neb? i travel so often that it would def be $ well spent.

don't know bout u guys but i have gone on trips asking my sig other to do my chest pt and he says, yeah yeah it will be fine...lets face it, it just doesn't work out always. he's tired from touring all day, or he's at the gym or whatever. its so much better to rely on yourself.
