Travis when for his check up today and they are putting him in. He's 18 and this is his first time ever to be put in. I'm really worried about him.

I am sure you are worried and I am sure he is nervous. I think in many ways its more nerve wracking when you are thrust into the reality of CF as an older CFer. This is best. If he isnt well then he needs it! HUGS!

yes, he was put in the hospital. i'm worried about him because neither one of us has been put in, so we don't really know what to expect.

Hi Sara,
I know it is scary the first time going in to the hospital, but if he needs it than its the best place for him to be. He will come back feeling much better. I agree with Melissa, it is difficult when you get your first real taste of cf as an adult. Its downright frightening to have to start new experiences like hospitalizations. It wouldnt take a rocket scientist to know why you are worried about him....after all you said he went for his check-up and they are putting him in ( pretty self explanitory). He's your brother and its perfectly natural to be worried about him especially with a first hospitalization. Stay strong for him, he needs it now, and make sure to take good care of you as well..... **HUGGS**

I hope all goes well. Tell him to take precautions (masks, wash hands after re-entering room, etc).
He will be in good hands and hopefully he'll come out feeling wonderful!
You are a good sister!
Just tell him to take things to keep him busy (books, magazines, lap top, phone, etc.). The worst part for me is just making the time pass. I sleep more while I'm in the hospital but I get pretty bored. That is usually a sign that I am feeling better when I start thinking of all the things I 'could' be doing.
Good luck to your brother. I find your concern for him endearing!
