O.k., so I did it. I boiled the nebs and I even boiled the spacers for his alberterol. Everything melted!!!! I did as everyone said and set the timer for 10 min. I actually noticed they were melting and took them out at 6 min. What did I do wrong? I realize that maybe I wasn't supposed to do the spacers but why did the neb melt when all of you said you boiled them before?

I think I will be splurging on that germ sanitizer. I am not cut out for the boiling thing. Lol!

Oh no, Jenn! That sounds terrible. I laughed when I read your post because I could just imagine the look on your face when you saw all of that stuff melting. I'm sorry that happened.

Okay, you don't suck at boiling, you just happened to boil a kind that is not boilable. You have to have the certain kind that is reusable. We use Pari nebs that are reusable (and boilable) for up to 6 months. After that you must replace them. I can't believe your clinic didn't help you out with this! Ask them to give you a script (or better yet, a sample) of a Pari neb. I imagine you use mask, right? Well, the masks with the Pari are boilable, too, and they are a nice soft plastic. Before Leila could use a mouth piece I loved them because you could have the chamber straight up and down, but still adjust the mask piece as needed. That way I could cuddle/cradle hold during treatments.

I don't know of a spacer that you can boil. I wash mine with hot soapy water and rinse with boiling water.

Yup, you need meds that can be boiled. Not all can be boiled!

PARI LC Plus, as Keeley said, are a great way to go.

I guess I will put a call in tomorrow for a new one. I use the kind that they gave us when we were in the hospital. I didn't realize that you can only use them for a period of 6 months (just found that out the other day to). Where does everyone else get the neb products? Just from the pharmacy or a home medical supply place?
