Tune Ups - but not sick?

Sometimes I think you are my long lost sister or something, Cowtown. I've had the whole "where is the patient?" bit happen more than a few times, and just on my last clinic visit I told my doc I didn't want to get admitted and "waste the bed."

I'm sorry you're sick (though not all the normal sources are indicating it). Really bad SOB is usually my indicator when it's time for IVs, and when it's bad enough, certainly a hospital stay. Don't feel bad for being in there, just remember that you may *look* ok, but if you felt how you looked, you'd be off running a marathon or doing CF fundraisers or something. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> We so often trick ourselves into pressing forward even when we feel sick... it just makes it worse! Take it easy and get the meds you need. Hope you feel better soon.

I am currently doing a tune up even though I don't feel "sick" in the normal sense of the word. It better to do it before you get totally sick to reduce the amount of damage to your lungs.

I think you're right though, we get so in tune with our bodies that we can feel it coming on before it gets out of hand.

my PFT's are fine... i feel fine.... but i'm coughing up a decent amount of blood so the doc says it's IV time.

it's not easy, to say the least, so i feel ya <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0"> take care and hope u feel better...

That just happened with my boys. The bronchs showed a fair amount of mucus, although they have been feeling great, PFTs good, weight up etc. The doc, being pro-active and aggressive said they would benefit from IVs. OK with me!

The funny part was that every nurse, doc and PT who came in asked the boys if they were feeling better & coughing less. The boys kept saying No, we were feeling fine when we came in. "Then what are you doing here?" <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

We'd rather avoid a problem by doing IVs early, than wait until there is a problem.
