Kelly, I wish I could just hold you and tell you that you are right, a year from now-actually six months from now this NICU time will seem like a distant faded memory. So take the camera with you to take pictures, and keep a journal at home which will enable you to release some feelings you have right now.

The NICU ride is an emotional one. It is so hard to leave your babies each day, but you MUST remember to take care of yourself first and foremost in all of this. If you aren't healthy you can't take care of them, so make sure you are eating (if you are BFing, eat as much, if not more as you did when pregnant) and resting while you can. Soon you will experience MANY sleepless nights.

Tara is right, these baby days pass so fast. do what you can to enjoy them, and try to think of some positives in the situation....at least you are getting your sleep at night now to recuperate so you are all ready for these babies when they come home.

The NICU nurses are right...one day he will just suddenly get it. Tristan was our worst eater to start out with, and he was the first to reach the last step and "graduate" the whole feeding thing. Keep your head up kelly

congrats on the arrival of your precious babies! even though it is hard right now-enjoy every minute of their first few weeks of life...all 20 toes and fingers!!!!!
double the love, double the kisses and hugs.
please please treasure and enjoy this time, for it goes so quickly.
as everyone else said, in a few months, this time, thought difficult right now, will seem like another lifetime ago. a distant memory.
congrats!!!
