Uhhh...Pulmozyme co-pay?

Definitely find out from your insurance company why the copay changed. Blue Cross in California took Pulmozyme off the formulary this year, because -- get this -- the drug is so expensive!! Not a legitimate reason. Patients and care centers objected loudly. My center (Children's Hospital LA) spoke to the Blue Cross people and explained the absolute need for the drug. There was even an article about it in the LA Times by an outraged local columnist. Lo and behold, Blue Cross changed their policy, put it back on the formulary, and sent us all letters apologizing for the "confusion" (I found that amusing. . . ) So, I would try and fight, if you can

On those assistance programs I have found your family income has to be pretty darn low for them to approve you. Are there different programs out there? I sure can use it too cause I pay $225 for a 3 month supply for pulmo, tobi and a few others!!! Help!

True with some Gov't assistance programs, but back when I did Pulmozyme, the Genentech program helped us even though we weren't at the poverty level. Hopefully the program Sarabeth mentioned can help with co-pays. It does get crazy with all of these co-pays, no doubt

Hello All:

This is the answer that I have received directly from Genentech:

Specifically, patients/families should be informed that:

Although the Genentech Endowment ended operations earlier this year, Genentech now offers reimbursement assistance through Pulmozyme Access Solutions.

For more information regarding co-pay assistance, support for uninsured patients, and other reimbursement services, contact:

Pulmozyme Access Solutions at:
800-690-3023 or

visit Pulmozyme Access Solutions

Thank you.
