Hey Sonia,

I am assuming that when you say your sugars have been normal that you are checking them when you are nauseous and not just at scheduled times throughout the day. I say that not to scare you but for this reason. When I was first developing diabetes I would get nausea - extreme nausea. I would also get heart palpitations that would make me breathless. The heart episodes would hit me often when I wasn't even exerting myself - I would just be sitting watching TV and out of nowhere I would be unable to breathe - I would sit gasping for air for several seconds and then I would be fine.

It is likely that you are fine and your blood sugar is not the issue - BUT if you are not checking your sugar when you are nauseous or having the "episodes" then I would maybe try checking it at those times and see what it is.

Also something I want to add - what are your saturation levels when you are nauseous. I often times got nauseous when my sats were low when I was using oxygen. Just a thought - if you sats are lower when you lay down that may be why you are sick when you wake up - my sats were always lower when I slept and after waking up and being awake and up and moving for several minutes I would feel better - no nausea, no headaches, and so on. Again just something else that may be contributing to the problem other than meds.

Take Care,

Hey Sonia,

So sorry to hear you're hospitalized. I had a thought when I read your post... when I had really bad nausea in the hospital and they couldn't figure out what it was, they gave me a drug called Reglan, and it worked great. (My nausea ended up being gastroparesis, which has since disappeared.)

I hope you feel better and get out of there soon!
