Sorry about the email...they will be doing sinus surgery tomorrow they say his sinus are a disaster really packed.

the nodules they say look like black nodules on the tops of the lungs they will be doing a biopsy on that as well and think it might be aspergillus (sp). But they way they are talking makes me wonder if they think it is something else.
can you all think of anything?

he will be in the hospital a total of 4 weeks by the time this is done and we have never been in more than 2.

When I was reviewing a CT scan with the radiologist he was showing me the nodules in my lungs, which as others have said are quite common. Some come and some go, others stay, but he mentioned that he didn't see any black areas. He said those are dead tissue. So if there are black nodules,(mine were all white)it could be dead tissue. He said that is not a good thing. Anyway, good luck with the surgery, not fun.

I had a non-cfer relative who had a nodule. The person lived in the desert southwest -- arizona and had gotten valley fever. The nodule evenutally collapsed and was absorbed by lung tissue...

I hope the sinus surgery is as successful as mine! It made a HUGE difference for me. My sinuses were "Nasty" according to the doctors.

I'll be thinking of you and praying that it all goes smoothly and is complication free.
