update on my dog Sam

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I pretty much cried off and on most of the week when we lost our dog. I'd think, oh, I better let the dog in or feed him and then realize he was gone. Or I'd think, gee last saturday DS and I took the dog for a walk, gave him a bath or he was laying underneath the trampoline looking up at us. It was better when I wasn't home with all those reminders.

Have a good cry. Allow yourself time to grieve. Your dog had a wonderful life and knew you loved her very much.

I'm so sorry for your loss. It sounds like you are at peace with the decision, it was the right time. What helped me after I lost my sweet cat was to put a framed picture of her beside my bed. I still keep that picture in my bedroom and it has been nearly 3 years now. When I miss her I look at the picture of her cuddled up on a blanket I (poorly) crocheted for her. I always made her these little blankets, it's silly but something special I did for her.
