I am still very new to all this myself..we are still in testing phase, but my son is on pancreas...i read in the pamphlets that the pellets can burn the inside of the mouth...so she is good to get the meds another way right now.. i am sure it wont take long to get the mouth to heal and you can try another way to get it down her... i will keep thinking about her...keep us updated

Are you sure the blood is not coming from sore nipples from breasfeeding? This has happened to many people that I know. Look to see if there is any kind of blood on your nipples. The baby sucks that in during nursing and so often it comes out while spitting up or drooling. It really isn't harmful if that's the case.

When DS first started enzymes, we used a tongue depressor with pureed bananas in the NICU and unfortunately, a couple times, we accidentally scraped the roof of his mouth with the depressor and got a little blood. I felt like such a horrible mother.
I'm in agreement that the blood probably didn't come from not using applesauce with enzymes. Sure enzymes if left in the mouth can cause sores, so you need to make sure they're all washed down. And 99.9% of the time they're washed down with breastmilk/formula.

Yesterday we I was feeding her my breastmilk by bottle and I noticed the blood the first thing I thought was blood from the nipples but I checked and that was not the case. Later last night a nutritionist came by to see baby Coops and said that it was the enzymes that was burning her tongue and making it bleed... They had to stop her feeds this morning because she was throwing up which is very out of the norm for her. She was doing so well and LOVING my milk!! I feel very fustrated at the moment!!
