Vitamin D

There is a Vitamin D deficiency in the US (maybe the world) because of the skin cancer scare. People are being told to not be in the sun too much so they go the extreme.

15 minutes a day in the sun will boost your Vitamin D quite a bit. I think CFers need the additional supplements anyway, but dont rule out the sun. Just be careful!

A year ago, before the docs knew about the CF, an endo found my vit way below minimum. He said it was probably because I wasn't outside enough. I knew this was wrong, because I'm an outdoorsy person, I'm outside all the time despite the weather. Anyway, he prescribed 50,000IU a week for 3 months then once a month. I stopped after 2 months because doctors were poo-pooing vit deficiencies as being the source of my problems. I just had a doctor check my vit D levels again and haven't gotten the results yet.
