Vote

We voters need to shine a light on the issues this time around. I will choose a flip-flopper over a complete flop every time. A flip-flopper might flip in the right direction part of the time, but the flop has flopped. What more can I say. One time in the 1920's people fell asleep and elected a flop just like this one we have now. Herbert Hoover was his name and you know the rest of that story. It took FDR three terms and part of another to straighten out that mess. Another tough old Democrat , Harry Truman had to finish the job. If you are in harmony with the incompetence shown in handling the war in Iraq, vote for the flop. If you favor a man who will do nothing to protect the jobs and quality of life for the working , vote for the flop. If you side with the way health-care costs have rissen, vote for the flop. If you savor the fact that jobs are fewer, big corporations are cancelling pensions and health-care benifits for retirees and the imiage of America around the world is not possitive, vote for the flop, If you condone a leader who is attempting to break the record of the greatest flop in history, Herbert Hoover, vote for the flop. When you vote Nov. 2, keep one thing in mind. You have a chance with a flip-flopper, but the flop has flopped. It will be a joyous occasion for me when we send the flop-flopping, not strutting, back to Texas with the smirk wiped off his face. We also need to wipe the sneer off Mr. Cheney's --Halliburton's finest--face. The flop and vice-flop have gotta go.

There are ideals and then there is reality. If you really think Kerry will keep his word, then vote for him. I really think his "plan" from the tid bits he says about it will actually ruin the health care we do get.

I had a friend die recentl because of socialized medical system. You ask why when its cheaper...well doctors dont want to be doctors and they dont have the best medical equipment or medicine avaible right when they need it. Every thing is delayed to thelast minute...or at the part of canada she was in......and when dealing with any illness waiting can be very costly to the wallet and to the persons health...and it was in her case. what does this have to do with the topic...just think about it when kerry goes off spouting how he will "fix" things and make it more socialized. I agree with one poster who said capping pharmacutial companies is a good idea. not so much to where they sell at a loss but to where its not so outrageously high to consumers. they can still make money with out charging over 200% for products and yes they do that. and the other things making medical so high is doctors being sued and having to have outrageously high mal practice insurance....

now i can understand where people dont like bush or kerry. i also believe that when you vote you shouldnt vote jsut because you have been a democrat or republican all your life. you can be of a certain party and still not agree with that canidate. look at all of the issues. we have to remember we are in the minority here. as in what we need as in medical and research wise we are in the minority. that still doesnt mean we cant make a difference. i am jsut saying look at what your views are...dont listen to your neighbor your friends or family...look and see how you feel. and then research it..see what those canidates are saying and what they say they will do. whether you like bush or kerry as a person who do you think will run the country the best overall. not just on one issue. you can always write and lobby to your congress no matter who is in office about certain topics. and yes that can make a difference. they both need to be informed about matters. and when you are reseaching dont go to one sided websites...well you can but just remembeer they will always put up just about that one canidate and will probably "bash" the other to a certain point. try going to several different news websites. also you can go to this website. and take the quiz.....its not one sided at all. you just answer the questions according to your views. then it will rank all canidates...not just bush and kerry...according to what your views are and theirs.....and you will be surprised at who will be at the top of the list...i got some dude i never heard of. and it gives you a website to check them out too.... copy and past i dont know how to link,.

http://www.ontheissues.org/

although i am a bush supporter i will not tell you who to vote for. i just want you to make an informed vote...not just because of one issue or because you like them as a person or not....

is that 12 dollars per day to be in hospital ginny? not sure what the , means. i wouldnt mind paying a small fee to be hospitalised as long as it went directly to the hospital. but our government would never think about that. they would also get slammed for 'discrimination' by some folks [dont ask, australia is a strange place]. i dont envy the US health system either. i envy their nice hospitals, but not the system. im trying to find the average lifespan of australian cf'ers but i cant find anything. anyone know? i think its around 30?

Glen,
Are you with the Kerry campaign? If not, they need to be paying you, because you've bought everything he said, hook, line & sinker. He may win the election, it's anyone's guess right now, but you know what? If he does & when he makes a total mess of it, you can bet your bottom dollar that he will blame it all on Bush.
Like someone else mentioned, the economy was slipping during the Clinton era & when 9/11 happened it was hard for us as a country & that's when a lot of jobs were lost, etc.
Luckily, we're rebuilding again. It took a lot to get back. Home sales have been at the highest rate in years, thanks to Bush cutting interest rates, people are getting called back to work, taxes have been cut, so barring another terrorist attack on our home soil, I think things are lookin' up.

To whoever posted last...
Things are looking up??!! In case you hadn't noticed, we are fighting a losing battle in Iraq and have lost over 1000 lives! Iraq, despite what Bush has tried to tell us, had no connection to 911, so we shoudn't even be there in the first place. I bet if your son or daughter or you, for that matter, were over in Iraq, you wouldn't think "things are lookin' up."

We pay 9 dollars 38cent a day in a nursing ward.
We pay 12dollars 7cent a day in the more specialized wards like the intensive care units and transplant wards.

I´m waiting for a lungtransplant and I heard that more people donate organs in USA.
I envy that.

Ginny.

Losing battle? In any war there are going to be casualties. There's no getting around that. The media only shows the negative. Very rarely do you see that most Iraqis are glad we removed Sadaam from control and find comfort in the fact that we're there. I do feel bad that lives have been lost. I have lost a brother & sister, so I know the pain of loss, it is very unfortunate. When this war first started, both democrats & republicans alike thought that Sadaam had weapons of mass destruction & he did, he used them on his own people, where he hid them or disposed of them, only God knows.
I hope that control can be returned over to the Iraqis too, and soon, so that our brave troops can come home and the Iraqis can live life w/o fear of being tortured.

People living with CF will benefit much more with Bush as President. Kerry simply does not have what it takes to run this country.

if you are voting because you watched that stupid moving.....i wont say what i am thinking. but i hope you realize it was not factual at all. there are things called computer editing and you can put words in peoples muths, make them move, cut and put segments of other video had in such a way you can make it look like anything and no one is the wiser....if your voting because of a totally biased movie that has no truth.....and everything in it when asked to research and make sure it was fact, people were denied to reserach what was in the movie...come on people....please be smart....i dont care who you are voting for just vote smart not jsut because of a movie.

I saw the documentary, Outfoxed: Rupert Murdoch's War on Journalism, yesterday.

I live in Sweden. Our news show death of both sides of war.

All over the world people are watching you.
To us USA is just an other country that have nuclear weapons.
A country that belives God is on there side.
USA do not listen to UN.

This is why it´s importent you look to yourself and try to understand that working together for better world is the way to go.
The rest of us do not want an other world war.

i havent watched 9/11 [i think michael moore is a twit] but i still think bush is a twit too. i mean cummon, going into iraq and magically restoring peace? i dont think so! the country is stuffed and we know peace is never going to happen so why send endless amounts of troops into iraq? people are saying kerry wont follow through with his promises, but how do you know is bush is going to keep his word on his promises? all politicians lie.

We would hope to put a democracy in place in Iraq, similiar to what was done in Afganistan(sp). It is wonderful to see women have a voice in Afganistan by getting to vote last week!

The important thing is for everyone to just get out there and vote. We all have a voice whether you like the candidates or not. These are what we have to choose from. So pick the one that''s closest to your beleifs and VOTE!. I don't stand for anything Bush has said or done so I have to pick Kerry, whom I beleive has my same views, whether he does them . I don't know. We will never know what people are going to do in office till they get there. It happens with every election whether it's city, state or country. Let's keep things a little more light hearted and not get so bent. Eva

Right on EVA!!!!
Even though i wont vote for kerry I respect your discision. I will vote for Bush because I believe he has the same beliefs as i do and views....not all but most of them i agree with...I am 21 and this is my first election. I believe that its our patriotic duty to vote....no matter who you vote for. Our ancestors fought for our freedoms. Women protested and were ridiculed to be allowed to vote and nowa days most women, young people even other races don't vote. I have to say I am ashamed. So many of different backgrounds/religions/race/even women fought for so many years just to have the right to vote and have the government we do have...sure its not perfect lots of things are flawed (i think mainly the politicians that make it flawed). But why throw away somethign that was fought so hard for just because you dont want to vote or dont like the two "popular" canidates.....you know you can write in someone and there are many other canidates that are runing....sure they wont win but you wont give your vote to someone you dont like and your not throwing your vote away at least you voted. You may not agree with me but I am glad I got to share my opinions with you.

I am voting for JOHN KERRY. After reading this website, I feel like I am in the minority, which suprises me. Bush's record on the environment alone (do not get me started on Iraq, tax breaks for the rich, abortion, Supreme Court, stem cell and the deficit that our children's children will be stuck with...) is deplorable and a risk to all and particularly to those of us suffering from lung disease.
