Was this a blood allergy test or skin test?

If it was an IgE blood test I would hit that doctor over the head. Those tests are as worthless as a sweat test.

Skin tests are infinitely more accurate <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> good luck!

Hello Amy,

I too am very sorry to hear of your situation. My husban and I have 8 children and just recently, (October 07) found out that our 9 year old Could be positive for CF. We went through the sweat test 3 times and he tested borderline positve all three times. We were sent to Devos Childrens hospitol in Grand Rapids, Michigan and the process started there. Next came Genetics. We waited for 2 months to get the results and when that time came still all our questions were still not anserwed. We just received a call from Devos yesterday stating that my sons paticular gene mutation showed them that he had an Atypical form of CF. So the next step is to test my husband and I and then the rest of our children.

I completely understand that the waiting is the worst thing. I also recommend that you find a Doctor who can refer you to a CF Facility where the genetics can be tested. Be forcefull if you have to. Something is going on and you need a doctor that will work beside you not against you. The sweat test should only take a couple of days, but the genetics taks a couple of months.

I dont know where you live but if you are any where close to Michigan, try to get referred to Devos Childrens Hospitol or U Of M. These are 2 great facilities and they dont make you feel like you Crazy!!

I will keep you in my prayers, Tina
