I'm sorry to hear you were in the ER again! You know, I honestly think that sometimes when they don't really know what it is, they just call it croup. I could be way off there, but I was told that with my son so many times. One doctor even made up his own words, and told me "It's just the *creeping crud*, Mom, and he will live." I mean come on! I used to joke that the ER by our house kept a room waiting for my son. They knew us as soon as we came in, and would just take us right on back, and hook up the O2. It's not a nice place to be so well known.

I do believe that some CFers have croup-like symptoms. I have learned that most kids with CF seem to have symptom that are much more severe than other kids when they pick up a run of the mill virus or flu.

I am so glad to hear that you have a new ped who is on your side. That's a great start! After your doc sends in the Ambry kit, you can check in with Steve at Ambry, via the thread here on this site. He is awesome. He will answer questions, and he will check on things, and let you know where in the process they are with your child's test. Thanks for keeping us posted.<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

My son's (borderline one) sinus ct came back with sinus disease. I got the Ambry test today. He is going in for an endoscopy on Mon. so I am going to bring the kit with me and see if his GI doc will order it. Does it have to be the Pulm.? I don't want to wait until his Pulm get's back from vacation.

I am so confused b/c there are people here whose dr. took the borderline test seriously and I don't feel like mine has. His allergist said to me the other day nasal polyps in a child pretty much mean cf. Is sinus disease the same? It was the covering Ped. who gave me the results and i don't feel comfortable with the covering Pulm to call and talk to them about it. Two different Dr.'s in the practice have dismissed me. I have seen so many dr's in the past few months and everyone of them has a different opinion. Thanks
