WATER PARKS

My goodness! I was just wondering this the other day, I was at a Splash pad with my 3 kids, including our CFer and as she is frollicking in the water, it occurred to me, is this safe?
I decided that she was having so much fun, to cut that out of her life wouldn't be fair. She should be able to feel like she can live like any other child and be allowed to savour all the joys of life.
I also realized that the water is highly chlorinated and goes through a purifying system before it is recycled through the pumps again.
We can't live in a bubble and the worst thing is to teach my children would be to fear living.

My son will be 2 next month. He loves the water...sometimes I question if he has fish as part of his heritage We took him to Water World on Father's Day and he had so much fun. His joy was so worth it. I never really worry about the outside pools as I do the inside pools. But a funny CF story. My son was playing in Wally World which is a part of Water World made for kids 5yrs and younger. It is huge-probably holds about 200 kids, three levels etc. Well with the wonderful world of CF he had a messy diaper in the pool and because his stools tend to be a little looser the cheap yet expensive swim diaper did not do very well and Wally World had to be closed. My son cleared out Wally World for at least a couple of hours!! It is funny now-I was terrified then. But it's CF-whatcha going to do

What do you think about lakes, rivers? I love natural bodies of water personally. I would question lakes, but rivers fed by glaciers that are flowing less so.

I'm not sure, I'd think that stagnant bodies of water like a lake or pond might not be a good idea, but if we lived anywhere near a fresh water river fed by a glacier, well that sounds downright beautiful and fun!! The only water and rivers around here do not look any better than the lakes and ponds. I think the ocean would be great though.
