I have problems with my right knee when I run. Pain, to the point where I have to stop, long before my lungs would require me to stop. it's frustrating <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-sad.gif" border="0">.

Jaimers, Sorry you are having this. It could be the cipro, but either way I would visit an orthopedist.
Jonathon, I switched to aerobic dance, Zumba and similar stuff, because 2-3 months into jogging, I could tell my bad knee was getting worse. I had surgery almost 15 yrs ago to repair torn meniscus and drain a cyst, and it worked but not to the point where I can be a runner. That said, the cardio of dance class made it so I was able to run a 4 mile race in less than 40 minutes last summer with no running training. So I really think the cardio workout of dance is a great option.
There are dudes in my gym's dance class too...

yeah i think i'm going to try and get in to see an orthopedist soon. because it's annoying and out of the norm for me since it just started last week and i've been working out for a while now. I was a competitive swimming for many years growing up and had bursitis in my shoulders pretty bad from that so i'm wondering if it's something like that just in my knees....?

I don't have CF so I have no advice in that department. However I do run and exercise and have knee problems because of it. So I thought I would take a stab at what may be your problem. You said you were exercising so I was just wondering if your problem was more exercise related.

Is the pain in your outer knees? I get pain in my outer knee and what that indicates is that I have a muscle imbalance. My quad is stonger than the inner muscle which causes pain in my knee. I've been to a physiotherapist and what recommended was to have me run my quad muscle on a foam roller. We also did some exercises that worked the inner muscles more.
