Wow. Sorry to hear this. I hope you feel better very soon. Would you mind describing the way the pain felt? Also was the collapse in a lobe that is typical problematic for you? Were you having an exacerbation or can you relate anything to why you had it when you did? Finally, what is your FEV1? Sorry for the million questions. I've never had this and want to know a bit more about it so if it does I will be more prepared.</end quote></div>
I was suddenly short of breath. It felt like someone had hit me with a baseball bat all around my body, from my neck to my waist. When I tried to take a deep breath, it felt like I was hitting up against a wall. My brain was telling me I could breathe deeper, my body wouldnt let me. I had no idea what was happening, I was very scared. My Sats dropped from 93% to 84% in a matter if minutes. My resp were around 40 per min. (my husband is a nurse, he was checking all of this). My husband gave my lungs a listen and said I had really deminished breath sounds on that side. I couldnt sit still, even though it hurt to move. Sitting back, foward, hunched over, any position would hurt. Walking was extremely difficult. I could only say one word sentences being so SOB and all. I was not sick at the time it happened. Actually I havent been sick in a few months *knock on wood*. Just a few allergies. It actually happened as I was taking my night time medicine. I was just sitting on the bed taking my pills. No physical activity. There was really no reason for it to happen. It was on the side I have had the most problems with during my lifetime, but not too much lately. However, it was on the side I had pain in a few months ago and concluded that it was a mucus plug, but that pain went away. My FEV1s are in the mid to lower 30s. I hope I answered all of your questions <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">
