what are your vitamin D levels
I saw a thread where everyone was discussing low vitamin D. At the beginning of summer, my daughter's vit D level was 18 and when they checked it a month ago it was 31. What are everyone's levels? Is 31 borderline normal?

DD's last value was 32 which is normal but the CFF likes the value to be between 35-40. As result, we give her an additional 1,000i.u. once daily of vitamin D3. Very easy for us to administer as it's literally a drop added to her food.

I had my Vitamin D tested in august from my primary care dr. This was the first time mine was tested( to my knowledge.) I didn't know that Vit D was an issue with cf - mine was 49. I don't take any supplements. I do spend a lot of time outdoors, running, biking, gardening (and swimming in the summer.) I eat a lot of cheese . lucie32 yrs old/female/ dx'd at 2
Mine was 49. 30-100 ng/mL is the "reference range" , 20-30 suggest insufficiency. Optimal levels are > or = to 30 ng/mL...I am copying this from my Quest paperwork >

29 or 31, I can't remember which. I take two extra strength Citracal a day (500 IU total). My dr said this was fine. I don't have CF, but I am aware this is an issue for respiratory health--period. I should probably lower my caffeine intake as I know that has an influence on calcium absorption...not sure about Vit D.

Emily's was either 15 or 17 before she started supplementing. She now gets about 3000iu's a day between a couple different supplements and her level was right around 40 last time it was checked.
