Thank you all for your responses. It is helpful to hear what others have experienced.
She was in the hospital for 5 days, had a picc inserted so we could continue iv meds at home. We have about a week to go. While in the hospital, I asked several times if they would repeat the PFT before leaving and they said no. We were told that it was not necessary until she finishes her course of treatment. One doc even said they would wait to repeat until two weeks after she completes the meds. I find it a bit puzzling that they wouldn't at least check after a week or so into the treatment plan. In fact, I called her doc's office a few days after we were discharged to find out when they wanted to see her for follow up. The nurse had to check with the doctor but told me that they typically just wait until the next regularly scheduled clinic appointment, which for us, is in July! I came a bit unglued and told her that was definitely unacceptable. We need to re-check in the next month at least. The doctor's office called me back later and said they want us to come in next week for a PFT! I don't know if her doc was planning to have us come in anyway or if my neurotic crazy mom attitude with the nurse caused them to get us in next week! Either way, I don't care! I just want to see how she does on this PFT after being on the meds.
