To add to this post. A few years ago I use to work a at a book shop part time, I loved working there and meeting new interesting people, as i'm quite a social person. I worked there for about month and a half until I became sick from bowel blockages (DIOS).

Currently I'm writing a children's fantasy novel and am painting the illustrations for the book also. Its my first attempt in writing a book, so it could take me a while lol One day I'm hoping to get it published.

Though my first love is music. I'm a singer/songwriter and have have made an album in the past. I'm currently also working on a cd single at the mo. but its taking a while bc I've not been very well this year. Singing is what I have always loved to do- without it i would just die inside...its also good therapy as well

A bit about myself: Growing up I left school when I was about 15 and didn't go to university or study like all my other friends...I was just too sick back then and study is just not my forte anyway lol

I've always been artistic and creative so thats what i have in the past and am still pursuing in life

My advice... you do what you really love to do in life and if thats not an option do something that won't be stressful for you, something thats enjoyable. And when you find that hobby, job whatever you choose to do, shine *BIG HUGS* All the best in whatever you decided

I worked as a Staffing Consultant until I became quite sick and ended up in the ICU. My doctors thought I needed a transplant right away and I went on long-term disability. My evaluation results were that I am sick, but not ready yet for transplant. I've been off work for 2.5 years and still have days where I struggle with feeling useless. I definitely need to find volunteer work that I'm passionate about.

When I was first diagnosed I was doing home daycare but I really wanted to teach pre school. My doctor told me it wasn't a good idea but I did it anyway for a few years. I had just gotten sick and neded a break, so after a 3 year rest I started a job working for a credit card company. I had to stop work because of the progression of my diseases (CF and a rare mitochondrial disease) but I am attending University of Phoenix online to get a BA in Health Care Administration. As for hobbies I enjoy scrap booking and I love taking pictures!

Randomgirl,

After college, I worked as a high school teacher. I was catching every bug from the students so I began my plan to transition to work for myself. IN 2005, I left teaching to work from home and still do today. LOve it! My customers love it too b/c I have a little more time to make deliveries, etc. On most weeks, I work 20-30 hours per week, some less and some more, depending how I feel. I totally enjoy the fact of being able to put my health care a PRIORITY in front of everything else. I've helped quite a few other ladies work parttime from home and hope I can help others have a parttime (5-10 hours week) or fulltime income to help them as well! Let me know if I can help ya!

i work 24-34 hours a week.
i go to school full time.
i have a boyfriend.
yeah so that is pretty much what i do. also including family things and cf stuff as well. and im still pretty healthy.
although i know not a lot of cfers can do what i do because of getting sick so much.
im in the hospital maybe 1-2 times a year and do home ivs like 3 times a year or so. my work is really good about me leaving for hospital stays or doing home ivs. i get disability when im not working since im usually out for 3-4 weeks so i still make money to pay my bills. its not permanent disability of course. my lungs fev are still in the mid 70s-low80s.
