What do you think about the CHRISTmas name change?

I am not trying to start some big arguement , however I would guenuenly like to know who really supports the CHRISTmas name change? I will never call it anything but CHRISTmas.

Why are we totally changing our ways of life for the handlefull of people who don't like it. I mean seriously this country was founded on christian-jedeo values and everyone knows that. So if they have such a problem with it why don't they move to some place that believes the way they do.

Why do people think that our society has gone to the crapper. I mean we are raising kids that think we come from monkeys and have noone to answer to in the end? NO wonder they don't care.

I think thats it for now

Are you referring to the way it's referred to as Xmas? Or are you referring to all the businesses who called it "holidays" last year instead of christmas?

There is a religion background to the abbreviated/secondary name of Xmas. The X actually represents the cross that Jesus died on.

I always thought the X was the way to say Christmas without the reference to Christ. X=generic

If you are saying Merry <b>Christ</b>mas, then include the Christ<img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

I have never liked the X-Mas because it always seemed like the lazy way to do it and I feel you shouldn't shorten a religious holiday. As Debbie said, like it or not, without Christ there would never be this holiday so I feel it should stay how it is.

As for the work place or any public place I am a big supporter of "happy holidays". There is no reason that it should be Merry Christmas, and ignore everyone else

I believe in evolution and that we have no spiritual figure to answer to. I always say Christmas and never Xmas, I even celebrate Christmas with my family. I don't see why some people find it offensive. Though you may think society is going down the crapper, without evolutionary theory, a lot of scientific progress, including in the medical field, would not have been made. I'll never call Christmas anything besides Christmas because that's what it is. I won't start calling Ramadan Xadan.

I am not overly religious but still believe without Christ there is no Christmas & the Xmas is a generic/lazy way....IMHO. I also agree to say Seasons Greetings or Happy Holidays to include people of all faiths!
