Why are we as Americans such idiots ! Things have been the same for 100's of years and now all of a sudden they want to change all this stuff to make everyone else happy in spite of ourselves. Everyone should celebrate what they believe in and let well enough alone. First they want to change our money to take away "In God we Trust", then they took away religion in schools, took away the big statue in front of some Judicial building because it had the ten commandments on it or something like that? WHO MAKES THESE RIDICULOUS DECISIONS just because someone complains that where they are from they dont do that .... That would be so easily settled if they brought that gripe to me, id tell them to GO BACK !! This changing things that have been the same for generation after generation are what makes the USA start to fall apart in my opinion. For some reason we dont seem to have any say anymore as US citizens against non citizens or new citizens who just came here. uggggggggggggggggggggggggg

Not to be nit-picky, but as far as the money argument goes, there IS supposed to be a separation between church and state. Money is government issued, and god is church. No separation.
And I hope/assume you don't mean that everything that goes on for generations should be left as it is, because there's a lot of crap in there that sucks and NEEDS to be changed. Prejudices against various groups, among others.

I always just take it by situation. At church or with friends/family etc..I say Merry Christmas...in a work setting or in a store etc (ie to a stranger)I say Happy Holidays. My pseudo brother in law is Jewish I say Happy Hanukkah to him. If I know what you celebrate I wish you "happy/merry and joy" in your clebration if I do not know i just go with Happy Holidays...translates to "tis the season for whatever the reason". I don't need the gov't to figure it out for me...not rocket science for crying out loud.

I don't understand why we have to change things for the minority of people (no offense to anyone) who have a problem with it. Sure there are other things that have been going on for centuries that could use some tweaking, or changing. However, if it aint broke and it aint hurting someone, DON'T FIX IT. Can't we spend our money elsewhere to... oh I don't know, get some more books in our classrooms, pay our teaches more, HIRE more teachers to decrease our student to teacher ratio.
For example, I DON'T believe in prayer in schools. But it use to be done all the time. For those who don't want to pray....SIMPLY don't pray, carry on with your business while those who DO want to pray do so. But for petes sake don't remove it all together because it offends you to OMG *hear* others praying. Get over it.....
