Yes they can; however, the study on hot tubs indicates MILLIONS of particles of bacteria compared with a significantly less at the school swimming pool or the lake we go to. And we feel it's important that DS learn how to swim.

I once read an article about parents of a cfer who wouldn't allow their child to play on her own slide in the back yard after a rainfall or until the dew dried in the grass because they were so overly concerned with her getting something. Need to have some balance between dealing with a cfer and having a normal life. But hot tubs -- gross ME out and we used to have one before DS was born. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

Also know your number. My GI doc never told me my son's sweat test #, so I had to ask the pulm. and HE had to get the # from the GI. Is 43 really borderline?
