Maybe i was getting a really small dose in mine or something but my eclipse balls only take me 35-45 mins tops unless i forget to take it out of the fridge 30 mins before dosing, then it *might* take an hour....

I am using them right now. The time it takes depends on which medicine you are on. Some take 30 minutes, some take 60 minutes, and some take 90 minutes. Right now i am on 2 ( ceftazidime, Merrem) that take 30 minutes each, and one ( Tobramycin) that takes 60 minutes. They had me using the ceftazidime in a syringe and at night i would be so tired i just couldnt sit there for 10 minutes slowly pushing in the medicine anymore. I asked my Dr. if they could get the company to put it in the balls instead because i kept missing doses. They did and problem solved. My home infusion nurse told me the reason they would rather use syringes when they can is they cost about 50 cents each , but the eclipse balls cost about $12.00 each.

i like those eclipse balls for the once or twice a day meds. they are easy to carry! when i have 4 times a day infusions i ask for the battery pump though- i hate missing sleep. the plain old IV bags and the syringes are the worst ones IMO though... ugh
