what is the median age WITHOUT transplant

I'm not so sure, Diane. What do they do with the folks who do have transplant. Keep them out of the statistics entirely? Count them as dying on the date of transplant?
The dx of CF doesn't go away with the transplant. I'd guess that everyone with CF is counted
They can still get the transplant data separately. That's gathered by the transplant centers.

Its hard to say, but in general, the reason for most cf deaths is due to the lungs, so with new lungs it would be a different ball game wouldnt it ? As for counting a person post transplant as dieing on the date of transplant ....Ummmm no i would think they'd be counted as living a new life free from cf lungs. A whooooooole different story.
