What is wrong with my pediatrician?!

When Jaden gets sick I call the CF clinic who in turns calls out local ped, he sees Jaden then calls them back and they perscribe her meds. Local ped just looks at her and tells them what is going on and that is it, He never gives her meds. He is a good guy and has been great to us through everthing.

Ditto what everyone else said about cough suppressants,

and, I can't understand why your doc would prescribe antibiotics for a stomach virus?? 1. Antibiotics won't do anything for a virus 2. Antibiotics dehydrate the stomach and intestinal tract, which worsens a stomach virus. that's why they always give us pedialyte or push fluids on us while we're on antibiotics, they can mess up the stomach and bowels.
One thing I know for sure-antibiotics mess up the GI tract, my docs have always said that. I don't understand this.

As most CFers I was told I could not take cough medicines like Nyquil, Vicks, etc., but the doctors did let me take Delsym which is a cough suppressant and expectorant. It last for 12 hrs. It was the only one I as allow to take when I was young. I now take Robitussin DM or Atuss-DM.
