I'm exactly where you are; it's like I could've written your post myself. I have been feeling sick and coughing a lot more so I saw my doc yesterday and blew my best FEV1 is a couple of years (34%). This belies every other sign. So we'll stick to orals right now and if I'm not feeling better by Friday, we'll do IVs.
My biggest problem is that despite breathing OK (especially with albuterol fresh in my lungs), I am still huffing and puffing on tasks that shouldn't be strenuous. I should probably start monitoring my oxygenation levels.
I was evaluated more than a year ago, but don't yet need tx. And, truthfully, looking around at the other patients when at the meetings - it's very clear I won't need one in a while, though one hard exacerbation could tip the scales.
