I feel so dirty now reading the replies.
Post transplant my room was scrubbed, my mattress flipped and my sheets washed. I'd lived in the house for years.. just cleaning the room wasn't going to protect me from bugs completely so I learned to get over it pretty fast. I tossed makeup and the toothbursh that I had used since that was near or in my mouth frequently. My stuffed animal was sanitized (because there was no way in h*ll I was getting rid of it) even asked for it while I was post-op and hallucinating. fun times.
I'm pretty easy going. I'm a neat freak but hate to dust so that gets done when it gets done. I'm sure some of the germophobes would cringe but I go to college so I consider being in class a worse threat to my health than being in my home. You'll get a big list of do's and don'ts post tx (and pre even) and you'll learn to live with what you can and can't do eventually and hit a happy medium.
