Hmmm I'd have to say the things that I did that had the greatest impact on me were exercising and to stop drinking soda.

I had a cyst on my upper shoulder and my regular dr told me to STOP all my antibotics and start this one that would get it to go away. I thought no way if I am taking 3 a day now and this thing grew what is one less strong one going to do. So I stopped drinking soda and started drinking 4-5 glasses of water a day (I hate water so this was huge for me!) and within 4 days the cyst was gone. I even went to get xrays to make sure and it was completely gone!!! So no more soda for me!!!!

And of course exercising just makes you feel good about yourself <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

CF related I would have to say taking the saline...I love that stuff!!!!! Never felt better!!!

medication wise, hypertonic has been my miracle. i could say doing cpt regularly has helped a ton, too, but prior to the hs, cpt was only effective when highly congested.

as far as lifestyle changes, my life was saved when i learned the value of moderation. i learned to pace myself in all of my pursuits. no more excessive substance abuse, no more all night, balls-to-the-wall video game sessions, no more thinking that i had to do everything all at once. i've been much happier with the results, and i live life much less stressed.

now, if i could only tackle procrastination.....

Meds wise: Miralax. It's like manna from heaven. My new after dinner drink. I had such bad stomachaches growing up and even had docs thinking I had Crohn's. Just a few months ago I heard about Miralax (don't ask me why no one ever told me about it earlier) and ever since taking a dose after dinner every day, I have been without all that pain and it keeps things moving along!

Lifestyle: running. and more running. Sometimes I struggle to have the motivation, but once I'm out there and doing it, I know it's the best thing for me.

Easy one for me:
<br><br>
Acquiring myself an eflow so i actually did my nebulisers. Made nebs so much less of a chore. I got my eflow in 2005 just as i started my PhD, i think if i hadn't had one and carried on not doing my nebs, combined with the stress and demand of a phd - i would not be as healthy as i am now. It stopped the decline.
<br><br>
However, the major improvement has been ng feeding. I don't have low lung function (~65% when i started), and i was hesitant to start because i thought it was for people with low lung function, but i was developing a serious problem with food. I hated food never wanted to eat, the pressure was too much. ng feeding took that pressure off and i no longer have a "problem" with food. I even like it now ;-)
<br><br>
I've increased my weight from about 97pounds to 120pounds in 4-5months. It's amazing. I believe this is why my lung function is now consistently higher than it was (70-75%). The weight has helped sooo much! From sept 2005 to sept 2006 i had iv's 4 times. Now my last was in january. Another addition is Dnase and i felt this has really helped with my clearing. But i believe the weight is the major contributor to me fighting off infection and staying off iv's.
