What would you do?

It does sound like to me this woman is in denial. I watched my grndmother and mother both struggle with breath from COPD both smokers and I knew smoking not for me. I think while this woman may not be able to go cold turkey depending on how long she smoked she really should each day cut back 1 cig then 2 and perhaps she needs to see some CF people who are struggling to make it hit home. I know my daughter is going to do CF walk with her oxygen tanks dragging behind her . This woman may need to see what her child's life could be like to have it hit home
My ex husband smoked around kids and they were in hospital a lot with flare ups Once was gone we had a smoke free house and what a difference. Their stepfather does smoke outside only and did quit, however our youngest who is 23 recently had a real bad spell and that is his little girl, he just lost it seeing his baby so sick, so he put a cig in his mouth. He has kept it down to 5 and outside only around no one, working on quitting again

I am hoping the walk will open her eyes. I am not going to be able to attend because my husband and I will be out of the state for a wedding (we missed last year's for our wedding, now my friend is getting married just a couple days before our anniversary). I think meeting people who have been through/ are going through what she's got in store will help at least get her learning more.

Thank you all for the support! My husband and I don't even know this woman, but it's a good friend of ours who is friends with her. It's just such a powerless feeling to see a child put in danger. I have taught both middle and high school, and there are so many things that you are required to report... it has me programmed to speak up when I see a child in danger. Unfortunately, as I've seen while teaching, there are some things beyond our control.
