I love classical music, because I'm a nerd. I also love folk and 'oldies'. But lately I've been delving more into my husband's music collection, which includes more stuff that 'you kids' listen to lol. Like Green Day, flogging Molly, Maroon 5 etc.

I'm into pop. I love REM,Dido, and others. However, I select my favs depending on the lyrics and not the band or singers. So my favs are bits and pieces from here and there.

I like all kinds of music. As for musicians, my consistent favorites to listen to over the years have been: Rolling Stones, Van Morrison, U2, The Ramones, Bonnie Raitt, The Four Tops, Earth Wind & Fire, The Neville Brothers, John Hiatt, Elvis Costello, Counting Crows, Everclear. I also enjoy listening to classical music if I'm feeling stressed out.

I love (are you ready for this?)....Disco! Very fun to dance to, but I can only do it for about 3 minutes at a time.

I also like rock n roll, and LOVED the 80s....

Usually heavy stuff...death metal and goth rock (i.e. Korn, Marilyn Manson, Seether, Disturbed), but I also like the Gorillaz, and (surprisingly) some J-Pop (Japanese pop music, for those who don't know ^_^) I also collect music from games such as The Legend of Zelda and Devil May Cry, which are rare things to find, let me tell ya! Basically, I enjoy anything with deep base and a heavy electric guitar But NO COUNTRY, PLEASE!! (no offence anyone )

I listen to everything but country, My rock tastes span from 7 mary 3 to STP to System of a down. Latley I have been into a lot of rap music. Something about the newer "southern" stuff, Paul Wall, Mike Jones, 36 mafia, D4L gets me going in the morning. Probably my favorite song of all time though is Louis Armstrong, "its a wonderful life" . I have always loved that song and our first dance at our wedding was to it.

Actually, I met my new wife because we are both Journey fans! But we also have other similar music tastes!
I'm also a fan of "Heart", "Chicago", "Van Halen", "Richard Marx"; Used to be one of George Michael, till after his "Patient" album came out--not too fond of him after his "coming out"!!

I guess I'd been in a large spectrum of music...Classic to Heavy Metal, and Back! J-Pop (listen to it all the time, Lilith!!)
I seem to be stuck in the 80's music, though. Maybe 'cause I'd been in Japan so long, I'm not so familiar with the new music these days.
Though lately, I got a little hooked on GnR, and still like to Rock to some heavy tunes.
Sorry to those Rap fans, I cannot stand it...I listened to it often when I was living alone for a while and had Mtv! The Rap in the U.S. was more tolerable than the Japanese Version...Some Japanese just Can't think original...they suck looking like some bro's when they sing, talk and dress!!

Lilith...ever hear of "B'z", "Smap", "Mai Kuraki", "Hikaru Utada"??? Those are just a few of the J-Pop artists I like!!!

I would have to say that now a days I like most everything. I grew up on country & western, but with older siblings was highly exposed to the 60's & 70's. I was an 80's child, but love jazz and other music. A lot depends on my mood. I dont have any particular group or singer that I prefer. I guess you could say I am well rounded! I will say that no matter what the music as a rule puts me in a better frame of mind and mood! Music calms the savage beast I guess!

I listen to just about every thing except country. I don't mind some of it but my husband dosen't like it. His sister's listened to it all of the time growing up so now he can't stand it. He mostly listens to hip hop and R&B.I think we have every Metallica cd out there. We have lots of alternative and rock cd's some oldies and some classical, even a few country that are mine.

I'm terrible at naming favorite things. But the CDs on the top of the pile almost always reflect my state of mind at a given time. Currently on top are some Bach cello sonatas, Portishead's Dummy (which I hadn't listened to in years), Elliott Smith's Either/Or, Dylan's Nashville Skyline, an anthology of fado music, and Gram Parsons' GP/Grievous Angel (with apologies to those who hate country). Guess it must be fall, and I must be feeling somber. Where are those peppy early Beatles when you need them?

I think I've heard of "Mai Kuraki" and "B'Z" before, but usually I make my selections based on the animes I watch ^_^; I like "Do As Infinity" (they did a lot of the closing songs from the InuYasha series), and I just recently purchased the "Full Metal Panic? Fumoff" album, though it's authentic Japanese and I can't read the artist's names (haha, I suck). I also like "Ride on a Shooting Star" by the "Pillows". It was the ending theme from FLCL (which was a very strange anime, but funny nontheless). Probably my favorite anime albums were the "Hellsing" CD's. Again, they're authentic, so I can't read the names. I really need to learn Japanese
