Whats your opinion?

I called the doctor's office & asked them to please call the lab & get the results, if they have time today to do so, since DH has call me 3 times this morning wanting to know if they had called me yet.

They didn't seem too happy about it. They said the lab usually gets the result to them in a timely manner but if they have time today they will try to call. When I asked if I could have the numbers not just a -/+ they said they didn't think they would have that information until they got the results in the mail. Can't they ask for that when they call the lab?

So it looks like I won't be getting the answer I wanted untill next week.

When DS had his sweat test, we got the results back in a couple of hours. At the local clinic, I usually get a phone call after about 5 days telling me the results of cultures and labs. But because I want to see the info in writing, I always make a formal request in writing -- my clinic has a release of information department -- for the lab results. And if I wanted them sooner, because everything is computerized, so ANYONE in the clinic hospital system can access them -- I can drive to the clinic, show them that I'm really me/ds' parent and they will print me off a copy. That department won't tell me the info over the phone, but the peds nurse can and will.
