Welcome to the site. I'm another member of the pushy mom's club. <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-happy.gif" border="0"> The fact is, if it were their child, they'd do the same thing. Your doc said "if that's what mom wants", well, mom wants the results sooner rather than later! I mean, come on, who mails things these days?! Maybe e-mail, but not snail mail; that's just rediculous.

I agree with the others. Don't accept the answer of negative or positive. Get the actual number! Let us know what happens.

It is amazing to me how many pediatricians are unaware of common cf symptoms. Our first pediatrician actually accused me of not feeding my 2 month old baby, thus causing him to be failure to thrive.

You have already learned something from this ordeal. Regardless of the test results, you need a new pediatrician.

Heaven forbid your test comes back positive, you will need to find the nearest CF Foundation accredited CF care center. Your Cystic Fibrosis doctor will probaby be able to refer you to a pediatrician in your area who knows CF and will fit in nicely to your team.

DS ped (not the nurse) just called with the results. sodium 14 chloride 7. Looks like we are back to square one on finding out what is going on with this little guy. I guess we will now persue other areas to get a diagnosis. If we don't find out anything in the next few months I will push them for further testing for CF. Thank you for the opinions & support. I have gained a wealth of information from reading on here. Not just about CF.
