We just got ours today <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0"> for my daughter. She is 3, but she was also just diagnosed. From my understanding, you have to fail at CPT to get one if they are under 2 years old. Also, i think the chest has to measure at least 16 inches. Maybe measure her chest and if she is big enough as your CF doctor. All they have to do it tell the insurance that you can't do CPT adequately (like your daughter won't cooperate...)

Max got his vest at around 14 months. He had really started to resist manual cpt so it was a lifesaver for me. Luckily we didn't have to jump through any big hoops to get it approved by the insurance company.

Grant had a clinic visit today and was measured for a vest. His chest was 19 inches and they said they usually wait until 20 inches. He has an appt next month where he will actually get to try three different types of vest. He will turn one in September.

My daughter just got her vest a couple weeks ago, she is 4. I had to ask our clinic about getting her one. They never even mentioned it. They were all for her getting one though. No problems. I agree...it is very nice for me! She says at times she would prefer the manual, but she never wanted to do that before and now I have my newborn to do manual on 3 times a day, so it has helped out alot! You should just ask her doctor and it should not be a problem to get one. I think it does alot better and consistent job than the manual pt...as it gets all over the chest in one shot as opposed to trying to do manual on the many different areas! Good luck!
