My blog touched on a few more points than that <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-tongue.gif" border="0">

Have you had SKIN allergy tests? Do you do environmental modifications if you have SKIN allergy test results?

Are you on a leukotriene agonist?

Do you have a HEPA filter?

Do you do aerobic exercise for 30+ minutes 3x a week?

Another thing I forgot to mention is nocturnal aspiration of gastric juice. That can cause a HUGE amount of inflammation that won't go away with IV's.

yes been there done that. I went through an extensive workout two years ago to figure out what was going on. So far all we have is inflammation with no true known root cause. I have went through extensive efforts to do reduce inflammatory triggers. I am dealing with an inflammation flare following IV's right now.

You can read about alot different topics on my blog <a target=_blank class=ftalternatingbarlinklarge href="http://cftoo.blogspot.com/
">http://cftoo.blogspot.com/
</a>

Many of these things Amy mentioned as well.

I have removed fragrances from my home and most of my beauty regimen has been improved, no more perfume etc. I am reducing/eliminating things from my diet. I treat my allergies. I take xolair for high IGE level. I take steroids when I have a flare and for me that was the only thing two years ago that got thigns under control, stopped the pleuracy and the bleeding. I am unhappy to be taking steroids again and trying to look into things more deeply. I too have good lung functions wiht my past two FEV1's being 100 and 108%.

I am looking into the GSK study being done at stanford and pittsburg currently, it is a one month study for inflammation but you have ot be clinically stable and off of steroids for a month.

It soudns like your problems are more serois and I would definately look into stomach, sinuses, ABPA, and any other inflammatory triggers I coudl find that the CF doc may overlook. I had an endoscopy done last year to see if it was from acid reflux. I also had a bronch.

I have the same issue. In my opinion, although these may be tested for they'll probably still have nothing to show for it. I'm allergic to a whole bunch of stuff, mostly pollen and mold, (NOT fragrances though) I'm also on proton pump inhibitors for the gastric juice thing ( I also have GERD bad) Have a hepa filter, do exercise, nothing helps. The only thing I could possibly think of- are you at a center that puts patients on high (Like arthritis) doeses of IBprofin? That has helped me some- well, its worse when I'm off it. I wish we all had an answer to why the heck our lungs are swelling shut.

Have you had an endoscopy? I know Stanford does surgery if the endoscopy shows the need.... a PPI for you might not be enough.

Do you keep your windwos shut 100% of the time? Wash your hair and body before going to bed? How often do you wash your shower? Do you do allergy shots?

Sometimes tiny little things like this can make a WORLD of a difference.

Scratching the surface on these topics don't suffice - no checking the box here. YOu need to fully, completely investigate these issues.

Get second opinions. How many allergists have you been to? WHen was the last time you were allergy tested? Why aren't you on allergy shots?

HOw many GI docs have you been to? Not everyone treats medical problems the same.
