When needing a picc?

what i don't get is, they keep calling it a picc team but at the 2 hospitals i've been at,(my hospital and one with another family member) its always been one person comes in and does it and takes about 30 minutes, i don't know how they get so busy, the hospital isn't that big if there is a whole team of them

I'm thinking it's probably to save money. I'm not sure how expensive it is to run that huge x-ray machine thing, but it's probably a lot. Plus, if they have a full staff seven days a week, they'd probably have to hire a few more people, which is also a lot of money.

Part of me agrees that there should be a team available on the weekend, but another part of me wonders if that might be an unreasonable expectation. I really don't have any idea.

xray machine? they typically use an xray machine? i've never had an xray machine for picc! how important is it? they've just come in my room, set up a sterile feild and start in, i also have a new nursing student's dream veins, but still, xray machine?

The two PICCs that I had before I got my port were put in and then I was taken to x-ray to make sure that it was properly placed. They have never done this to you?? I thought it was common procedure!!
