Which doctor do you call?

I call the CF doc if what I have has anything to with my lungs and/or sinuses. I usually get a faster response and can get something called in and not have to go in. My primary would make me go in and if I can get it called in from the CF doc then why not? The last thing I want when I don't feel good is to get out of my jammies and bed.

I always call the CF clinic for sinus issues~the primary care doc is more likely to prescribe any old abx instead of one specific to what your child is culturing-but thats just my experience.

I don't know if this will help you or not, but I used to call my CF clinic. Now, however, I have an ENT who works with the adult CF patients, and I call him. It has been a lot more helpful being able to call him (not griping about my cf drs, but they are pulmonologists, not ENTs ). My ENT knows what my NOSE is culturing, can consult with my CF drs about my lungs, and has treatments (my new one is nasal nebs- very cool and very helpful ) that I didn't get at my CF clinics. I imagine it also takes a bit of a burden off of my CF drs, who are often overwhelmed and understaffed it seems (especially during cold and flu season!).

I hope he is feeling better soon, poor kiddo (and mom, with the snotty sleeve thing- ugh, just when do they quit doing that? lol ).

Monday call and get an appointment a/ an ENT. Establish a relationship. If there is ongoing problems, the ENT may do a CAT scan of the sinuses. Prephaps he has polyops or needs sinus surgery. Also, do you do nasal washes?
