Who do you want as your next US president?

Wow, some people are really serious about this and beyond reason. Even though I can see the critisms of Obama's inexperience, like I said before I think we need that. May I add that he has over 40 years of life experience, and has clear charisma that can have an exilariting effect on foriegn leaders. With that said, America is in desperate need of a candiadte and an ambassador to the world to repair the damage done by this arrogant and silly Bush administration.

McCain is another pro-war guru and that's not what I think we need. Plus he's too old. (No offense Terri)I thought it was funny when he came back at the cheeky clinton ad with "who do you want to answer the phone at 3 am." I'm sure most of you have an older grandfather, you should know that 71 year old men are not going to be very effective at 3 in the morning.

Hillary has ran one hell of a race, she knows how to mudsling with the best of them, But Obama's thinking on his feet and charisma are a unique talent and one the country needs right now as we attempt to reach out and make amends for the mistakes of the Bush administration.

Thanks for the links kaleesgrandma and Cowtown, I will check them out more when I have time.

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> Wars change over time. Look back to the Civil War. We fought face to face, with in arms reach. Then look at WWI...trench fighting...WWII...atom bomb. Wars change when technology changes. The weapons have changed so now the wars must change. So yes there is a "war on terrorism". It is not as cut and dry as a "traditional" war but it is still there.</end quote></div>

Everything changes over time, but that's not here nor there. In this silly "War on Terrorism" we are utilizing our advanced military might to blast and slaughter civilians who have nothing better to fight back with then machine guns and pistols. Have you seen our "enemy" use any type of aircraft (not counting 9/11, BTW the Iraqis had nothing whatsoever to do with that, so that topic is moot)? Any stealth, advanced weaponry? No, if it were'nt for the massive amount of civilians, we would unleash all of our advanced weapons and blast these primitives back to the stone age. This is NOT a war, maybe a police/elite escapade. How in the world can a huge army, advanced airlines, and weapons stand a chance against men with boxcutters? By invading countries, and torturing and killing more and more civilians, we are generating more of these very same people we claim to be fighting. The media spoonfeeds us a campaign of disinformation. I personally think this all comes down to religion. There is no such thing as an atheist terrorist, when you do not believe in a skydaddy who rewards you for killing, why do it? If you don't believe in an afterlife, why spend the few years you have of this life behind bars?

<div class="FTQUOTE"><begin quote> It's this type of thinking that makes me mad. We are not deciding what toppings to put on our ice cream people! This is a presidental election! The person who will be running OUR country for the next 4 years. Maybe you should do some thinking before you vote for Nader "just to screw things up".</end quote></div>

Why be dishonest with yourself? I am supporting Obama, but if by chance Hillary is the nominee against McCain, Nader seems like the wildcard. He is clearly the lesser of evils here. Hillary will not commit to bring our troops home and McCain is all war and nothing else. We are basically picking the cleanest jockey shorts here. I am guaranteed my right to vote and have a voice, I will do anything in my power to not have another warmonger in office, and if that means voting for Nader, so be it.
