Hi Everyone,

Thanks for your replies, that makes alot more sense to me now. I wish the Dr had taken the time to tell me that in the first place...

I wonder if TOBI is the same as what I'm on, the packet just says 'Tobramycin Injection'. Does inhaling it make it TOBI or is that an entirely different product?

Timentin is just another antibiotic for PA, it is pretty much the standard here that kids are put on Tobra and Timentin via neb and then when old enough take Cipro. I think Timentin used to be called Ticarcillin if that makes any difference - it smells and tastes the same anyway.

Thanks again! I am always super compliant when on abx so hopefully it will all work and I will keep my 11 year no admission record <img src="i/expressions/face-icon-small-smile.gif" border="0">

If it is the tobramycin for injection then it is not the same as TOBI. The injection form only has something like 80 mg of tobramycin and the TOBI has 300 mg I think.
Before my daughter started culturing PA, but was culturing other things that weren't responding well to IVs and orals she was put on the injection for inhaled because that is all insurance would cover unless she was culturing PA.
