Prussian,
I get SS Disability. The whole thing STILL confuses me. My pft's are moderate I guess, I have to make under $940 a month to get benefits.
I used to get more money per month, but then I got Medicare Part D (extra RX coverage, good for nothing), so now my monthy $ went down over $200.
So I pay $200 for mandatory coverage that is horrible, go figure.
I don't think they go on income (to see if you qualify), I had to fill out forms, etc. and then finally got accepted. It's a huge pain in the butt BUT it IS extra $ each month.
I'm sure this was not a huge help but if you want to PM me with specific questions, I will try to help you.
I think speaking with the CF social worker is a good place to start, or go to the website, www.ssa.org. They have a lot of info. I would even call SS and speak to someone there. You have to devote a lot of time to this but if moving out is what you're looking for...this will help.
Good luck,
Kelli
