Working full time with CF

Gosh I am sorry for your situation as well... I don't know how big your office is or how many people work there but can you get protection under ADA? americans with disability act?

I have only ever had jobs where my bosses have gone so far out of their way for me.. I have had schedules changed so I could go in late, leave early or do whatever...

I just feel so bad, I would see about having your doctor write a note...see if that gets you anywhere and in the meantime, keep looking for a job closer to home...

For what it's worth, after reading your story, I just wanted to slap the guy upside the head that you work with. Sometimes people's inability to empathize leaves me speechless.

I have worked full time since graduating college. About 6 years ago I was diagnosed with cepacia and my health started to decline. I also had a 40 minute commute each way. My boss and all my co workers new of my CF, as well as Human resources. After some struggle I asked to work one day a week from home to give me more time to rest and do treatments. I then had one co worker complain and say my boss was playing favorites and he came to me wanting to take back the day at home. I pulled out the American with disabilities act that says the employer has to make arrangements for you to better do your job and maintain your health. That was how he could justify this situation for me and no one else. This other co worker and I tried to work out our differences but she resented me and I then resented her for not being understanding but we both didnt bring it up at work and I went back to working one day a week from home with HR approval. I dont know if spain has any law like this but I would go to your human resource department, they are there to help you.

I feel for you and hope this gives you some courage to stand up for yourself. If you need other advice or want to chat just let me know.

Get you doc to write a script saying something to the effect that due to your treatment schedule you work schedule must be changed. I'm not sure how things work in Spain, but here that's a physician's order and your employer cannot deny you that schedule change.
