I work outside of the home. But I work in a family business with my parents...so I have A LOT of flexibility. And anytime my girls are sick, I can stay home with them. They are in school, so I would be bored at home anyways without them I drop them off at school on my way to work, and then pick them up from school on my way home. Sometimes they come hang out at work with my and do their homework.

Even with me being with them almost all of the time outside of school, it is still difficult to get things done-homework, dinner, dishes, cleaning of the house, taking care of the dogs/guinea pig, softball, cheerleading-and add in time for CF! But somehow we do it all.

Like others have said, my lack of exercise due to lack of free time does concern me. But even more than that, is the lack of HUSBAND/WIFE time It just seems to get pushed on the back burner, behind everything else. I am not sure if staying home would make much of a difference in that category or not, but it doesn't matter, because I carry the health insurance on the kids through my work-and my husband doesn't have that option. We cannot do without the insurance.

My husband and I both work outside of the home. My husband is self employed so his hours are flexible. My job is very understanding if I need to take off for whatever reason. We are a very active family outside of work and school so sometimes it seems like life is always busy and stressful.

Tucker is in preschool and Mason is in 3rd grade so their really isn't a reason for us to be at home all of the time b/c they are in school. I think that if you are able to stay home that is great but I personally have to work b/c I carry the insurance for our family. We would have a really tough time paying for insurance, co=pays, medical expenses, plus all of the other things if I didn't work. We just try and spend as much time together as we can.

I have been home with my kids since 10/2005 -- it is hard to believe. Before that I worked full time in a real estate company and loved it. BUT my son had 5 surgeries that year and the hospital was 2 hours away and he needed me more than work and it just so happens at that time my husband got called for a new job- they called him, he wasn't even looking! The money he made extra made up for me staying home and we saved over $8,000.00 a year just on the new insurance (we were at that time paying $10,000 a year OUT OF OUR POCKETS!!) Yeah- we would be making alot more money if we were both still working- but my son is more important than money and he really needed me at that time and still does. Plus I have a special needs daughter. So it was a real blessing for us how it all worked out. Since then my son has not been in the hospital for the last 2 years!!!! I truly believe it is because I am his full time care giver. He has always has 4 breathing treatments a day and he has never missed one yet. It is hard sometimes to stay home because I feel like I am losing myself-- but I am so busy I don't know how I worked before! Everything happens for a reason and I hope you decide what is best for you!
