Good to hear that you are exercising.
With CF, one of the tools that I am using is exercise. Work out 2-3 times a wk. Need to get the heart rate up and push the blood through your lungs. Unable to run due to old ankle injury but I walk a 15 min. mile with a grade of 4. Do some weights and machines but mainly treadmill for 30 min. I was doing 4 miles in a hour on treadmill but had to drop back to 30 min. due it wt loss. Usually spend 1.5-2hr at gym.
I feel very strongly that exercise is why I am still alive along with some medical treatment and the Good Lord.

Keep up the exercise and live longer. Some times I feel like I do not have time but all cfers need to make time for exercise!!!!

Running and exercising has done more for Jordan than anything else he's tried. He gets a lot of stuff up when he runs on the treadmill. I'm glad it's working for you too.

I agree with everyone here. To me, exercize is just as an important part of my CF care as taking my meds. I've always lifted weights and done about a half hour of cardio four times a week, but lately I've switched it up and starting doing Jillian Micheals' 30-day Shred Workout 3 days a week (OMG, that video kicks my butt!) and running 3 times a week.

I agree with everything that has been said! fitness training is the key to staying healthy with cf. Just a little word of warning from experience about sit-ups though. I see a cf physio for osteo-skeletal (sp?) problems once a week. About 3 years ago i was getting upper back pain so bad i was constantly in pain. My physio has been doing a lot of study into what type of workouts are best for cf. Basically because cfers tend to have very strong core muscles (from coughing) it is important to focus on working out the opposite muscles. Doing too much core fitness can lead to worse back problems and curving of the spine (having done a lot of pilates).

Basicly if you want to tone those abs its fine BUT you need to do twice the work on strengthening the back muscles because they are weaker in cfers.

Sorry this is rambling... hope it makes sense! Obviously it wont be the case for everyone but knowing the pain i went through i wouldn't want anyone else to end up in the same position as i was!
